Hobbiton Movie Set tour TRG-17

A must do for Lord of the Rings fans! - but fun for all
Experience Middle Earth for yourself!
Travel to the farm selected by Peter Jackson as the setting for his Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movie masterpieces. Now a New Zealand must-do destination, your guided tour will bring to life scenes from the movies plus much more.

Escape into the enchanting world of JRR Tolkein's imagination on a trip to the Hobbiton Movie Set and farm.

Intricately recreated after being used as a film set for both the Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, this tour will take you to another world set deep in New Zealand farming countryside.

Whether you have read the books, seen the movies, or neither at all - this is one day you won't forget. Even LOTR sceptics are blown away by the location.

Our guides will set the scene as we leave the Bay of Plenty region and climb over the Kaimai Ranges. Admire the amazing scenery of the Waikato region before arriving at 'The Shire's Rest' visitors centre where your Hobbiton experience begins.
Fall in love with the Alexander family sheep farm, just as acclaimed director Sir Peter Jackson did, as you journey on a short bus ride through the unequivocal beauty of the land, with the mighty Kaimai Ranges towering in the distance. Your guide will escort you on a shared walking tour around the movie set, showcasing the intricate details, pointing out the most famous locations and explaining how movie magic was made here.
Journey past the colourful Hobbit Hole doors that scatter the hillsides, including the iconic Bag End, home of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, before arriving at Bagshot Row for a glimpse of the interior of a humble Hobbit’s home. This recently opened (1st December 2024) addition to the tour has been designed and crafted by the renowned creative teams behind the film trilogies.
Bagshot Row offers an authentic glimpse into the charming dwellings of Hobbits going about daily life in the Shire. Your guide will lead you through one of two Hobbit Holes offering time to explore the detailed interiors, with each home designed to create an identical experience.
Every person travelling, even infants must buy a ticket to travel as seats must be allocated for every person according to New Zealand law.
Please read the revised terms and conditions when making your booking as due to policy changes at Hobbiton, refunds on the Hobbiton ticket are not refundable should the ship fail to make port without giving at least 24 hours notice.  Also should the ships arrival or departure times change on the day, meaning the Hobbiton guided tour can not be taken at the booked time, then refunds of the Hobbiton tour charge will not be given.
