What’s included in the cost of the Tours?
• Pick up and drop off at the Meeting Point outside the Port gates on Salisbury Wharf, Mount Maunganui.
• Fully guided experience by knowledgeable local guide
• Guided tour with commentary, Free Wifi in vehicles
• For Cycle Tours - Bicycle hire and the provision of safety helmets and locks if required, rain ponchos if needed, maps

How safe are your tours?
Our guides all hold Passenger Service Licences and the vehicles have been passenger endorsed by the New Zealand Transport Authority. In addition, the business has been audited by Qualmark, the official mark of quality of tourism businesses in New Zealand. On the cycle tours, all our staff are first aid qualified and we use well maintained equipment. We will also give you a thorough safety briefing and ensure that all members of the group can ride a bike safely.
Is any other 'special' clothing necessary?
No special cycling clothing is required for our tours. We suggest comfortable clothes to match the weather and closed shoes like trainers are best. Conditions can change at any time so we suggest layers. Remember your sunscreen and sunglasses as well.
The tour time does not suit our ships time in port, can we still book?
We adjust the start and end times of the tours to suit the time the ship is in port, which does vary. When you make your booking request we will advise you of any time changes. If the ship subsequently changes its time once your booking has been made, then we will make a new time adjustment and advise you by email. It is always a good idea to confirm with us the day prior to the tour if there is any change though.
Are tours cancelled in the event of rain?
No, our tours run rain or shine.
What will I need with me during the day?
Sun block, camera, cell phone for emergencies (if you have one), and your wallet should be all you need.
Insurance for cycling tours?
Our Tours are low risk. However we do require that all participants sign a waiver of liability and agree to our terms and conditions. You must agree to wear a helmet at all times, obey the road rules, follow the instructions of the guide and inform us of any relevant medical conditions. You must also accept that cycling contains an element of risk and understand that Cruise Tours Tauranga Tours accepts no responsibility for any personal injury or loss or damage to your property while you are on our tours or hiring our equipment.
What is your refund policy? What if I have to cancel?
Cancellation at least 14 days prior to departure, 100% refund
Cancellation between 14 and 7 days prior to departure, 25% refund
Cancellation less than 7 days prior to departure no refund
We appreciate your understanding. If we cancel for any reason, or your ship fails to arrive into Tauranga Port you will receive a full refund. We recommend cancellation insurance to protect you against cancellation in the event of illness.
Do I tip my guide?
This is entirely up to you. If you think your guide did a good job, then your guide would very much appreciate a tip. Tip whatever you feel is appropriate.
Do you offer custom and private group tours?
Yes! We’re happy to customise a tour to you or your group’s abilities, time constraints or specific points of interest. Rates vary dependent on the length of the tour. A minimum of 4 people is required for a customised tour. Feel free to ask us for suggestions based on your groups needs and interests.
